Cardano

Cardano is an open-source blockchain launched in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson, a co-founder of Ethereum. The project is known for its scientific approach and reliance on peer-reviewed academic research. It uses the Ouroboros proof-of-stake consensus algorithm and aims to provide a scalable, secure, and sustainable platform for smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps). The Cardano Foundation and IOHK support the network, with contributions from a global community of developers and researchers. Its native token, ADA, is used for transactions and participation in network governance.
